On Friday, September 14, Hurricane Florence reached land in North Carolina, bringing with it 90-mph winds and massive flooding. According to World Vision, the storm resulted in 34 inches of rain in many places September 13-16 and was 350-miles across, sending North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. into a state of emergency.

North Carolina received the most damage with three feet of rain and a power outage for hundreds of thousands of homes. More than 30 Alliance families’ homes were significantly damaged by the storm in Whiteville, North Carolina, alone.

CAMA Services and Alliance churches in the area are joining forces to serve those who have been affected by the storm, providing them with needed supplies to survive and recover from this storm. One hope is that they will be able to acquire a Mobile Hurricane Flood Recovery Trailer, which is supplied with sump pumps, dehumidifiers, and other equipment that will aid in relief for this and other disasters.

Pray with us as these families and churches are restored from the damage they endured.
